Online marketing agency: Google Ads and SEO

As an online marketing agency, we make sure customers find you: on Google, in Google Maps and in AI search such as ChatGPT. With SEO, Google Ads and measurable results.

Ads are running somehow, but nobody knows what they bring. The newsletter has not gone out for a year, the Google Business Profile shows old opening hours, and the website attracts visitors who never enquire.

First we clarify whom you want to reach and what counts as success. Then we use budget and channels purposefully, measure in a privacy-compliant way and expand what brings enquiries. What does not work, we stop.

How to be found on Google and in AI search

SEO for small businesses: where the effort pays off

Search engine optimisation, or SEO for short, makes sure your website appears high up on Google without paid ads. For small businesses it is rarely worth competing for general terms such as “heating”. Specific searches that include a place or a problem are more promising, such as “retrofit heat pump in an old building” or “physiotherapy home visit” plus a town name. The basis is a technically sound, fast website, a separate page for every important service and copy that answers real customer questions. SEO works more slowly than ads, usually after three to six months. In return, visitors keep coming without you paying for every click.

Google Ads: visible the moment someone searches

With Google Ads you appear above the normal search results as soon as someone searches for your services. You pay per click and set the daily budget yourself. Success depends on the right keywords, negative keywords that exclude searches which only cost money, ad copy with a clear offer and a landing page that matches the ad. A good Google Ads agency measures calls and enquiries, not clicks. Every week it checks which keywords use up budget without delivering anything.

Optimising your Google Business Profile to be found locally

For searches with a local focus, Google shows a map with three businesses, often even above the normal results. Whether you appear there depends mainly on three things: how complete and well maintained your Google Business Profile is, how close the searcher is and how many recent reviews you have. Choose the right primary category, enter all your services and opening hours, upload real photos regularly and reply to every review. For local search, your name, address and phone number should also be identical on your website and in directories.

Visibility in AI search such as ChatGPT and Perplexity

More and more people ask ChatGPT or Perplexity, or read Google’s AI Overviews, before they visit a website. These systems summarise content and cite sources. They name businesses whose websites give clear, verifiable answers: specific services, prices or price ranges, service area, contact persons and frequently asked questions in short, unambiguous paragraphs. Structured data in the source code also helps, as does consistent information about your business in directories and on review portals. Search engine optimisation and visibility in AI search therefore follow the same rules: substance rather than sales talk.

Questions for our Google Ads and SEO agency

Which channels suit my business?

That depends on your customers. Trades and local businesses often win via the Google Business Profile and search ads, B2B companies via LinkedIn and expert content. In the first call we clarify where your audience is.

How quickly will I see results?

Ads work from day one. Content and search engines take a few months but work long-term. We show you the progress in the reports.

Do I need a big budget?

No. We start with what suits your business and expand what demonstrably pays off.

What does online marketing cost?

Set-up and ongoing support come as a fixed price after the initial consultation. The ad budget is shown separately, so you can always see where the money goes.

What do Google Ads and SEO cost with an agency?

With us, Google Ads management starts at €490 per month, plus your ad budget, which you pay directly to Google. Ongoing search engine optimisation with a technical audit, page plan and new content starts at €890 per month. The one-off local visibility package with an optimised Google Business Profile starts at €690. All prices are guide prices net plus VAT. After the initial consultation you receive a fixed-price quote.

Which is better: Google Ads or SEO?

They complement each other. Google Ads brings visitors immediately and suits offers that need enquiries quickly, but every click costs money. SEO takes a few months, but then delivers visitors on a lasting basis without click costs. Many businesses start with ads, learn which keywords bring enquiries, and use that knowledge to build out their pages for organic search. Over time, the share of paid budget falls.

Can you guarantee a place on the first page of Google?

No, and no reputable agency should. Google alone decides the order of unpaid search results, and it changes constantly. We create the conditions: a technically sound website, strong content for the right keywords and a well-maintained Google Business Profile. Every monthly report shows how your rankings and visitor numbers are developing. With Google Ads, by contrast, you appear above the results straight away, because those places are paid for.

How much ad budget should I plan for Google Ads?

For regional businesses, an ad budget of around €300 to €500 per month is a sensible start. For national offers or strong competition, plan for more. What matters is how much a click costs in your industry and how many enquiries you need. You pay the budget directly to Google. It is not included in our management fee. After the first few weeks we know what an enquiry costs and adjust the budget accordingly.

What is the difference between SEO, SEA and SEM?

SEO (search engine optimisation) moves your pages up the rankings without paid ads; it works more slowly but lasts. SEA (search engine advertising) means paid ads such as Google Ads, visible immediately as long as the budget lasts. SEM (search engine marketing) is the umbrella term for both. For most businesses the combination pays off: ads for quick enquiries, SEO for lasting visibility.

What is GEO and why does it matter?

GEO stands for generative engine optimisation, optimising for AI search such as ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews. More and more people ask an AI instead of searching. To have your company mentioned there you need clear facts, direct answers to typical questions, clean structured data and mentions on other sites. GEO builds on good SEO and extends it.

Is this eligible for funding?

For projects in SEO and ads, there are currently 5 matching funding programmes, 2 of them Germany-wide plus state programmes in 2 federal states. Whether it fits you depends on your federal state, company size and project – and almost always: apply first, order second.
